Dedicated to a Prayer Warrior

Sometimes we sit and reflect. Sometimes we cry. Sometimes we write songs.
Sometimes we wish. Sometimes we pray.
Sometimes we pray to Our Father who art in heaven. Sometimes we wish we could talk to our father who is now in heaven.
Sometimes it's all jumbled together and confusing. Sometimes it makes sense.

My Mind [A Wish & A Prayer]
What are the things I need to say
The very words I wish I could pray
I wish that I could stand still in time
And look beyond the feelings that don't rhyme
I don't want to go the way I came
If I had one wish it would be:
I need you to know
The feelings inside of me

And my mind wrestles inside tonight
And while the night is here
I need [Your] peace to arise

Here are the words I need to say
The very words I’ll pray like you prayed
The seasons always change in [His] time
We are the song the words of [His] rhyme
Sung in the world for all to hear
If I had one prayer it would be:
Let your song be mine
And I’ll carry on your melody

Let your mind put all fear aside tonight
And when the night is gone
By [Your] strength I will rise

And now I’ll be the person you are to me
And now I believe it’s your strength inside of me
And now I see it's always been [You] holding me
And now I seek more of [You] and less of me

A Divergence

Yes sometimes we must digress. I promised I would start blogging so here it is. Summers tend to be crazy and I thought I'd seen my worst last summer (Flordia, Caribbean, Lake George, Arizona, etc.) but it seems that this summer will do it justice. As far as divergences go there will be many. So this is more of an attempt to keep sane and somehow make sure I don't forget this summer. You can probably stop reading now. To name a few things going on (in no particular order) ->Going from one church to another (and all the wonderful things that entails...preparing the worship team, restructuring of church stage etc.) ->LH releasing our EP (and all the wonderful things that entails...planning, cd release, touring, detroit, chicago, oklahoma, houston, dallas, orlando, atlanta, etc.)->PCNAK (and all the wonderful things that entails...NE Worship team, promoting LH Album) ->VBS (aatwtte...i refuse to treat this lightly!) and then there's always the retreats (IPA, ICA), NACOG and other LH gigs, weddings, and then of course life itself. Oh and twitter. And 30 second youtube clips. This is going to require vast amounts of grace. This is the kind of thing that sound be available as an energy drink. eXtreme graCe.

The Wedding Paradox

Singing at weddings/engagements. A wonderful and not so wonderful paradox. I've found that the very limited list of songs to chose from to sing at Christian weddings is rather frustrating; so I decided to write my own. In case you're wondering this is wholly inspired by other wedding songs and nothing more.

Beautiful Thought

You were a beautiful thought
In the Maker's heart
So He used His favorite colors when He made you
Now you are
My most beautiful thought
And as we're about to start
Our life's story together I give you
All of my heart

I'll take this pen and I'll write
A faithful story of care and devotion
My deepest love I will give you
And it will mirror the love of Christ
He made you with His hand
In the other He'd already made me
And just before He was finished
Made our hearts beat together like He'd planned

It's in the way that you laugh with me
It's in the way you look at me
It's in the way that you love our Maker
Who thought us together
Now we'll be
A most beautiful thought

I Would Never

So then let's continue in the spirit of unconventional posts. In all honesty I would never write a song about rainbows and butterflies. Or flowers. No matter who you are. Oh and if you don't like it please just stop the music. If you're here for the first time I promise we'll be getting back to normal music soon! Stay tuned.

Interruption

So I had really elaborate plans for what I was going to do with this mvlog [music & video blog] but there's been an interruption. This won't be the standard post but then again there really is no standard yet. It's a really simple worship song (yes the kind that IPA loves) like "Alpha & Omega" and of course "We Exalt Thee". Now that I think about it we might reprise with that. God threw this one at me for the church and convention tonight. Seeya there!

Exalt The Name

Exalt the Name
Exalt the Name of the Lord
Hands lifted high
Raise your voices in one cry

Exalt the Name
Exalt the Name of the Lord
Jesus who died
And is returning in the skies

As we; as we exalt Your Name
Let Your glory fill this place
Reveal to us the wonder of Your grace
